The number of trips made by Cyprus residents for personal and professional purposes reached 3,815,322 in 2025, compared with 3,366,862 in 2024, according to data published by Eurostat on Friday.

Across the EU, residents made a total of 1.20 billion trips in 2025, an increase of 1.4% compared with 2024, corresponding to 17 million additional trips.

Of the total, 848 million were domestic trips within the country of residence, accounting for 70% of all trips, while 264 million, or 22%, were foreign trips within the EU. Overall, 92% of trips made by EU residents had a destination within the Union.

Among Member States, the highest shares of domestic trips in the total number of trips were recorded in Romania, at 89%, Spain, at 87%, and Greece, France and Portugal, at 85% each.
