Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – In cooperation with the relevant ministry and the tourism industry, the National Tourism Organization (NTO) has presented Montenegro’s tourism products for the first time at a tourism fair in New York, which was held over the weekend.
The Montenegrin delegation was led by Minister of Tourism, Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Region Development Vladimir Martinovic, who highlighted the significance of participating in the exhibition, especially considering the growing number of tourists coming from the American market.
“Participation in this tourism fair is very important for Montenegro. Tourists from the United States are not familiar with our tourism industry products, and we see great potential in this market. Of course, continuous investment in better promotion is necessary to familiarize American citizens with our country,” said Martinovic.
He mentioned that Montenegro had seen approximately 40,000 tourist arrivals from the United States in collective and individual accommodations during 2022, adding that this number could be significantly higher.
“Everybody is fighting for guests from the U.S. The competition is strong, but Montenegro can carve out its place in this market,” Martinovic stated.
He noted that Montenegro had what American tourists wanted from a destination, which was untouched nature, adding that this was expected to enhance the good relations between the two countries in the field of tourism.
Known as the Travel and Adventure Fair, it has been connecting millions of visitors with thousands of exhibitors from around the world for 19 years, making it of the largest events of its kind in the U.S.
During the two-day event, the NTO’s booth has been visited by a large number of New Yorkers, as well as around 275 travel agents, who had the opportunity to get acquainted with the tourism products available in Montenegro.
