    Preliminary meetings for the establishment of ABNA were held on November 28-29, 1994 in Thessaloniki and on April 28, 1995 in Sofia. The 1st Founding General Assembly took place in June 1995 while the rest General Assemblies were held as follows:

    A reference should be made to:

    • Two extraordinary meetings of ABNA General Directors held in Thessaloniki in April 1999 and on March 30, 2001 on the occasion of developments in former Yugoslavia.
    • The World News Agencies Summit hosted by ANADOLU in Istanbul on April 15-17, 2003 with the participation of ABNA Secretariat and members.
    • The special meeting on the Olympic Games organized by ANA in Athens on January 8-9, 2001.

    It should be noted that apart from the meetings of the general directors, the ABNA member technical directors also held meetings in Ankara on August 4-5, 1995 and in Thessaloniki on September 7-8, 1997.
