Helez at military industry fair in Bulgaria: We must work on the modernization of our armed forces

SARAJEVO, June 6 (FENA) – As part of his official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria, the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Minister of Defense of BiH Zukan Helez visited the military industry fair “HEMUS 2024”, which is held in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv.

The fair has an international character with a tradition longer than 25 years and offers an opportunity for government institutions, national armed forces, special industry factories, world scientific and research institutions and companies to meet in the same place, create business connections, exchange knowledge and experience and improve their research and jobs.

The fair offered significant experiences, development and progress in the field of defense, cyber security, border control, strategic communication, analysis and information exchange, and more.

On that occasion, Minister Helez was informed about the current world trends in the military industry in order to continue working on the modernization of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As Helez said, all countries in the world are seriously modernizing and arming their armed forces, and our country must not lag behind if we want to be ready to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH.

“Today, the military industry in our country is the strongest in the region with the prospect of even more significant development. Of course, there is room for progress primarily through investment in new technologies and research,” said Helez.
