GNTO: Greek tourism on the rise in the German market

Greece and the Greek National Tourist Organisation (GNTO) were at the centre of international tourism interest at one of the world’s largest tourism exhibitions, ITB Berlin 2025 (March 4-6), receiving particularly encouraging messages about a new large increase in tourist flows from Germany.

Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and the general secretary of GNTO Andreas Fiorentinos visited ITB 2025 in Berlin.

The GNTO participated in the exhibition with an impressive 1,007 sq m pavilion and the largest delegation in recent years, consisting of a total of 87 co-exhibitors, including Greek tourism businesses, regions and municipalities.

A new upward trend in Greek tourism in the German market is predicted, with a double-digit growth rate in tourism figures from Germany for 2025.

This was the result of a series of contacts made by GNTO Secretary General Andreas Fiorentinos with representatives of the largest German air carriers, such as Lufthansa, Condor Airlines and Discover, as well as important tour operators for incoming tourism from Germany, such as TUI, the DERTOUR group and Schauinsland Reisen, who confirmed Greece’s dynamic course in the German tourism market, which is moving with a double-digit growth rate in tourism figures for 2025 as well.

A permanent goal of the GNTO leadership is to further promote Greek destinations that are less well known to the German public, as well as to showcase the diversity of the country’s tourism products in already well-known and established destinations.
