SARAJEVO, June 10 (FENA) – The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, believes that the All-Serb Assembly is a dangerous project of the Serbian President directly connected to Russia’s attempts to destabilize Southeast Europe and divert attention from Russian aggression against Ukraine.

 “While the entire European Union and the countries that are on the path to the European Union are building interstate relations based on mutual respect and appreciation, the President of the Republic of Serbia is turning in the complete opposite direction.

No head of state in modern Europe would think of organizing an “all-French”, “all-German”, “all-Italian”, “all-Polish”, or “all-Spanish” assembly. This dangerous project of the Serbian president is directly connected with Russia’s attempts to destabilize Southeastern Europe and divert attention from Russian aggression on Ukraine,” Bećirović pointed out.

The organization of the “All-Serb Assembly” of Serbia and the entity of Republika Srpska is absolutely contrary to practice in the democratic and civilized world that respects international law and therefore represents an extremely dangerous step, with immense consequences.

The text of the “Declaration on the Protection of National and Political Rights and the Common Future of the Serb People” is particularly scandalous because it does not respect international and national laws, as well as the existence of an independent, sovereign and indivisible state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasized the Chairman of the BiH Presidency.

The President of the Republic of Serbia, advocating for the implementation of the dark idea of “one nation, one assembly”, denies the international legal significance of the territorial principle as a basis for the exercise of sovereign power.

He is trying to establish an unprecedented practice of joint sitting and decision-making of the highest authorities of the Republic of Serbia and one administrative-territorial unit in the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Greater Serbia’s politics is dangerous for the entire European continent. Apart from the President of the Republic of Serbia, there is no president in Europe who, contrary to international and national laws, organizes joint assemblies between one state (Republic of Serbia) and one administrative-territorial unit (Bosnia and Herzegovina’s RS entity), an integral part of an internationally recognized state (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Also, apart from the president of Serbia, there is no president of a country who tries to determine the foreign policy of another sovereign country without authorization, contrary to the adopted laws, strategies and other documents of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Bećirović stressed.

The content of the adopted Declaration of the “All-Serb Assembly” represents a flagrant violation of international law and the sovereignty of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Also, the adopted Declaration of the “All-Serb Assembly” represents an undermining of the fundamental principles on which the European Union rests and the basic international principles on which interstate relations of United Nations members are based.

The establishment and anti-Dayton activities of the “All-Serb Assembly” represent a threat to peaceful and equal cooperation among European states. Such a scenario suits only Putin’s Russia, and that is why it is no coincidence that the highest Russian officials publicly supported the holding of the “All-Serb Assembly”.

The revival of the criminal project of Greater Serbia requires a coordinated, unified and decisive response of the democratic forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially the states that are witnesses to the Dayton Peace Agreement, in order to prevent the greater-state aspirations of the Republic of Serbia towards the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina once again to cause a tragic repeat of the 1990s, stated the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović.
