Deputy Chief of Mission of China’s Embassy in Nicosia Zhou Yunliang said that there is mutual benefit in China-Cyprus and China-EU relations and that essence of the practical cooperation lies in complementarity of strength.

Addressing Wednesday the China-Cyprus -Europe Forum in Nicosia and the panel titled “Media Interactions and Cooperation Boost the Development of China-Cyprus and China-Europe Relations”, DCM noted that public must view the strong interdependence between China and Europe nin a positive light, calling on media to avoid narratives such as trade wars and decoupling.

Zhou said that differences in systems and cultures should not become obstacles for bilateral ties but rather sources of vitality for dialogue and cooperation. He further said that the results of cooperation benefit the peoples and contribute to global economic growth and prosperity.

Over 100 representatives from media organizations, government agencies, diplomatic missions, universities, think tanks, and enterprises from China, Cyprus, and other European countries participate in the China-Cyprus-Europe Media Forum, which is being held in Nicosia from 21 to 23 October.

The Forum is jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus, the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, Cyprus Mail, Xinhua News Agency Europe Bureau, China Media Group European Bureau, and Kuaishou Technology.
