According to Governor of the Central bank (CBCG) Radoje Zugic, the CBCG is giving impetus to the region’s integration into the EU through the intensive activities it carries out in the field of further modernisation of payment systems and dedicated work on full convergence with SEPA conditions.
“An efficient integrated payment system compliant with SEPA standards can make Montenegro more attractive for foreign investors and indicate a commitment to modern financial infrastructure and ease of doing business,” Zugic said, opening the first international conference Montenegro Financial Markets in Podgorica today.
He added that joining the SEPA system would have direct benefits for all citizens of Montenegro.
The two-day conference, which brought together leading finance experts from the country, the region and the wider international business community, is organized by the Capital Market Authority, in cooperation with the CBCG.
The event will address numerous key economic topics, including the role of asset management companies, challenges of sustainable finance, and the dynamics of the state’s relationship with the capital market.
