At the request of the authorities of the Republic of Albania, the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) deployed a specialized Search and Rescue contingent from the Civil Protection Regiment of the National Guard to join the operation to search for a missing person in the course of the Mat River, in the Klos area.

The search and rescue operation lasted ten days and was carried out in close cooperation with the Albanian authorities. Following intensive engagement in the field, the joint teams managed to locate and recover the lifeless body of the missing person.

The Commander of the Kosovo Security Force, Lieutenant General Bashkim Jashari, on his own behalf and on behalf of all KSF personnel, expressed his deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the victim. He also thanked the engaged personnel for the dedication, professionalism, and discipline demonstrated during the execution of this humanitarian mission.

The Kosovo Security Force reiterated its commitment to humanitarian missions and to strengthening regional cooperation, always in the service of the lives, safety, and well-being of citizens.
