Zecevic: To Montenegro is a pillar of Montenegro’s air connectivity

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The national carrier To Montenegro is a pillar of Montenegro’s air connectivity, Transport Minister Radoc Zecevic said, announcing that an air transport development strategy is being prepared.

Accompanied by State Secretary Marko Milacic and Danilo Lakic, a representative of the Directorate for Air Transport, Zecevic visited To Montenegro and met with the company’s management to discuss the current state of air transport and the business challenges facing the airline.

According to a press release from the Ministry, Zecevic praised the company’s performance over the past six months, during which it has operated in very challenging conditions for the aviation industry due to a sharp increase in jet fuel prices.

To Montenegro has managed to maintain very high aircraft occupancy rates without sharp increases in airfares.

Zecevic congratulated the company on successfully completing the tender to select service providers for Public Service Obligation (PSO) routes. Preparations are underway to launch routes to five new destinations, with highly competitive fares expected.

The meeting highlighted the need for the national carrier to develop over the long term through careful planning, while aligning its business objectives with the broader interests of Montenegro’s economy.
