World Tourism Day, Kumbaro: Albania in its golden year with an ongoing tourism season

Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro participates today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in the activities and meetings that will be organized with ministers of tourism from all over the world, in context of the World Tourism Day.

The topic for this year is “Tourism and Green Investments” and is run by the World Tourism Organization, UNWTO.

In a post in social media, Kumbaro wrote that, “This year, the marked day finds Albania in its golden year, with the tourist season still going on; but it doesn’t mean that we are “over” at all, on the contrary, it encourages us every day to rethink and re-conceive solutions that use tourism assets in complete peace with nature, land, biodiversity”, said Kumbaro.

Kumbaro added that, “We shall present these challenges even today during the meetings in Riyadh on occasion of the World Tourism Day, in a “green” trip with fellow ministers from all over the world, under the leadership of the World Tourism Organization, which we support in promoting Albania as a sustainable destination of responsible tourism”, said Kumbaro.

The UNWTO will welcome representatives from more than 100 of its member states, including more than 50 tourism ministers. They will be joined by high-level representatives from the private tourism sector, both from the Middle East region and globally in Riyadh. Delegates will participate in multiple conferences over two days.
