The Gross Domestic Product shows a real increase of 5.2 percent

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices in 2022 was 8,936.2 million euros. Meanwhile, real growth in 2022 was 5.2 percent compared to 2021.

In the report published by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, it is stated that GDP per capita for the year 2022 was 5 thousand and 37 euros.

“There was real growth for 2022 in the following economic activities: Wholesale and retail trade; repair of vehicles and motorcycles (10.8%); Information and communication 9.2%; Professional, scientific and technical activities (7.0%); Administrative and support activities (6.7%); Financial and insurance activities (6.4%); Processing industry (5.6%); Transport and storage (5.4%); Art, entertainment and recreation (4.7%); Agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing (4.5%); Real estate business (4.1%); Hotels and restaurants (3.7%); Health and social work activities (3.6%); Education (3.2%); Water supply (3.0%); Extractive industry (2.9%); Other services (2.6%); Supply of electricity and gas (1.4%)”, says the report.

While, during 2022 there was a decrease in: Construction by 3.1 percent, Public and defense administration; compulsory social insurance 0.5 percent.

KAS announces that the real growth according to the main components of GDP with the expenditure approach for 2022 was: Import of services 21.3%, export of services 20.0%, export of goods 16.1 percent, final consumption expenditures 4 percent, import of goods (FOB) 2.2 percent, Government final consumption expenditure 0.2 percent.

“The main components of GDP with a decrease were these components: Changes in inventory (-10.6%); and Gross capital formation 3.8 percent”, says the report of the Kosovo Agency of Statistics on the revised data of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) according to two approaches (according to economic activities and with the expenditure approach), with current prices and prior year prices for the period 2008-2022, based on ESA 2010.
