ZAGREB, 25 March (Hina) – Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Tuesday presented employers, trade unions and other partners with the eighth package of support measures for citizens and businesses which the government will adopt at its session this week.

“In the context of the energy crisis, the government will continue to stand firmly by citizens and the economy, ensuring the stable functioning of counties, cities and municipalities by providing affordable energy prices,” the government said.

It recalled that the previous seven packages of measures were worth a total of €8 billion, assessing that they protected citizens, preserved social cohesion and enabled the normal functioning of the economy amid multiple crises.

“With quality social dialogue, we are focused on further strengthening the standard of living of Croatian citizens and enhancing the competitiveness of the economy,” the government said.

The meeting with the prime minister included representatives of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts, the Croatian Chamber of Agriculture, the Croatian Employers’ Association, trade unions, pensioners and people with disabilities.

Prior to this, Plenković met with representatives of counties, cities and municipalities.
