Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Monstat, there was an increase in the number of passengers carried in the in rail, local road and air transport in the second quarter, while the road transport saw a decrease in the number of passengers compared with the last year’s corresponding period.

The Statistical Office says in a press release that the rail transport saw an increase in the number of passengers by 2.3 percent, while the number of passengers in the local road and air transport increased by 19 percent and 31.2 percent respectively.

The number of passengers in the road transport decreased by 2.4 percent.

“In the second quarter, cargo transport by railways saw a year-on-year decrease of 42.1 percent, while the ports saw a 27.9 percent decrease in this period,” states the press release.

In this period, cargo transport by road and air increased by 7.1 percent and 39.2 percent respectively.
