Ministry: Budva justifies its title as a capital of tourism

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism, the tourist season in Budva is producing excellent results, offering many reasons for satisfaction.

“The revenues from different taxes have grown to €1.98 million, which is a significant increase of 43 percent compared to the previous year,” stated a press release issued by the Ministry.

The Ministry stated that the largest hotel group in Budva, Budvanska rivijera, stood out as particularly successful.

“In the first six months, the group saw an incredible growth of 100 percent compared to the same period last year, and achieved 12 percent better results than in the same period in 2019. The occupancy of all its capacities reached a maximum of 100 percent, and hoteliers are optimistic about the final results that will confirm the excellence of the season,” stated the press release.

Moreover, there is also interest in extending the season, with promising reservations for the period from September to October.

“Statistical data from the Statistical Office shows a significant increase in tourist arrivals to Budva during the period from January to May. Arrivals increased by 62 percent, and overnight stays by 50 percent compared to the same period of the previous year,” states the press release.
