Podgorica, (MINA) – President of France Emmanuel Macron invited his Montenegrin counterpart Jakov Milatovic to an official visit to Paris, the President of Montenegro’s PR Service announced.

According to press statement, Macron congratulated Milatovic on his convincing victory in the elections.

“Adding that his professional path was a good basis for realization of the foreign policy goals of Montenegro”, the statement reads.

During the meeting with Milatovic, Macron pointed out that the EU needed a new dynamic in the region, and that France would be an advocate of improving the integration process of Montenegro in the coming period.

“I believe that this is the right moment for Montenegro to become the next EU member state”, said Milatovic.

He underscored that in this way a signal would be sent to the countries of the region that there was light at the end of the tunnel and that the process of European integration was alive.
