Podgorica, (MINA) – The priorities of the Montenegrin defense sector are related to meeting the obligations arising from the NATO agenda and modernizing the capacities of the Armed Forces of Montenegro (VCG), said Defense Minister Dragan Krapovic, adding that more than a third of this year’s defense budget is allocated for this purpose.
Krapovic said this during a meeting with the newly appointed French defense envoy Valerie Sans, which was also attended by outgoing envoy Nicolas Coussiere and French ambassador Anne-Marie Maskay.
The Ministry of Defense said that during the meeting Krapovic underscored the priorities of the Montenegrin defense sector, noting that they are related to meeting the obligations arising from the NATO agenda, as well as the modernization of the VCG capacities.
Maskay emphasized that the desire to strengthen relations in areas of mutual interest is mutual.
She said that Montenegro can continue to count on the sincere support of France on its path towards meeting its foreign-policy goals.
