Dragan Teodosiev awarded Best Young Jazz Musician Prize at 42nd Skopje Jazz Festival

Jazz drummer, improviser and composer, Dragan Teodosiev, won this years’ award for Best Young Macedonian Jazz Musician at the Skopje Jazz Festival.

Teodosiev has been a part of the Macedonian music scene for almost two decades, receiving his musical education in secondary school and the jazz department at the Faculty of Music Art in Shtip. He is actively working with a number of artists and bands including Taxi Consilium, Svetlost + Odron Ritual Orchestra, Zarina Prvasevda, Cobalt Code Unit, Shock Troopers and Dina Jashari, and has also collaborated with Toni Kitanovski, Sasho Popovski, Jordan Costov and many others.

He has also been a part of the Madam Fortuna theatre group from Antwerp, Belgium. Teodosiev regularly performs in North Macedonia and across Europe. He is called “the busiest (jazz) musician in Macedonia.” He was presented with the award last Friday, October 20, before his band the Cobalt Code Unit took the stage at the 42nd Skopje Jazz Festival.
