The governments of Italy, Germany, and Belgium have convened a video conference meeting of European leaders on Tuesday to discuss EU simplification and the energy situation following the price rises caused by the conflict in the Middle East, sources said.
The meeting is similar in format to the pre-summit hosted by Premier Giorgia Meloni, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever before an informal meeting of EU leaders on February 12.
The pre-summit was attended 20 of the EU’s 27 States.
The number of countries participating in Tuesday’s meeting has not yet been announced.
