“Hotel Pula” opens Pula Film Festival

ZAGREB, 16 July (Hina) – More than 5,500 spectators watched the world premiere of the film “Hotel Pula” directed by Andrej Korovljev and produced by Dijana Cetina Mlađenović, which opened the 70th Pula Film Festival, in the Pula Arena on Saturday evening, festival director Tanja Miličić confirmed.
In the sold-out Arena, the Pula audience rewarded the emotional Pula story about the impossible love between teenage girl Una and refugee Mahir with a long round of applause.
After the screening, the film crew led by the director and main actors Ermin Bravo and Nika Grbelja presented themselves to the audience, and many other members of the film crew also came out.
Hotel Pula was filmed based on the motifs of the novel “Pula” by Vladimir Stojsavljević. It is an emotional drama that takes place in 1995 in Pula, where 38-year-old Mahir (Ermin Bravo), a refugee from Bosnia, has been living in Hotel Pula for some time, whose days are monotonous and empty, until one warm summer night he sees Una (Nika Grbelja), a young girl from Pulja. That sudden meeting will awaken in him hope for a new beginning.
After the Pula premiere, the film will be screened at the Motovun Film Festival and the Brač Film Festival, and on August 31, it will go into regular cinema distribution.
The Pula Film Festival is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year. At the jubilee edition for the Golden Arena, 13 Croatian films are competing for the the best film award.ula”.
