Bucharest, March 14 /Agerpres/ – The Ministry of the Economy, Digital Transformation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEDAT) will be promoting Romania, between March 13 and 16, at the Salon Mondial du Tourisme in Paris, the most important trade fair in France, designed mainly for the general public, but also industry specialists.
‘In addition to the cultural and strategic links, the French market is a priority for Romanian tourism. In 2024, the number of visitors from this country was 113,000, an increase of more than 8% over the previous year, which consolidates France’s position in the top ten tourist countries for Romania. Participation in the Salon Mondial du Tourisme contributes significantly to maintaining this upward trend, through an amplified exposure and new promotion opportunities for the fantastic destinations in Romania,’ Minister of the Economy, Digital Transformation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism Bogdan Ivan is quoted as saying in a MEDAT press statement.
Romania’s stand hosts nine co-exhibitors, including travel agencies, destination management organisations, associations and federations and local governments that promote a diversified offer, from culture and traditions to adventure, nature and city breaks, in order to attract as many French visitors as possible. Accompanying them is Terente Ciui, a senior MEDAT official, who will have a series of meetings with decision-makers in the field.
At the national stand, visitors will be able to attend genuine demonstrations of egg painting and making smoked trout wrapped in fir leaves held together by willow twigs, having the opportunity to taste traditional Romanian products.
Running on a large screen will be tourism promotion films throughout the fair. At the same time, the event will also be marked by a Romanian music show on Sunday on the main stage of the Salon Mondial du Tourisme. In addition, destination presentations will be made, which will bring to the fore the unique attractions of Romania.
