BiH Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) representatives participated in the Energy Week Western Balkans 2023 conference, held on October 18 and 19 in Tivat, Montenegro.
The conference discussed encouraging the use of renewable energy in the region and attracting foreign direct investment. It also gathered ministers of energy of the Western Balkans countries, representatives of state institutions and energy companies of the region, and international financial institutions.
Head of FIPA’s promotion department, Nina Pobrić, participated in the panel Managing the Challenges of the Energy Transition Process of the Western Balkans, where she spoke about the energy potential of BiH, the Agency’s services, investment projects, progress and plans in the gradual phasing out of coal as an energy source and the regional integration of the electricity market energy, and regulations that promote or hinder trade in renewable energy sources.
FIPA representatives also held a series of meetings with companies from Great Britain, Norway, Italy, Austria, and other countries, during which they presented the legal framework and procedures for investing in the energy sector in BiH and the available potentials.
