TIRANA, March 19 /ATA/ Foreign direct investments pursued an upward trend during 2023, closing the nine-month period at the level of 1.1 billion euros, with an increase of 10.6% compared to the same period of 2022, the Bank of Albania announced.

According to BoA, about a fifth of them belong to the real estate sector, which are mainly purchases of properties by foreigners.

Energy and the extractive industry come second, followed by financial activities, which are mainly an increase in the capital of banks, as a result of the regulatory requirements of the Bank of Albania.

The high figures reflect the presence of large and quality investments that bring value added and the creation of new jobs and income in the Albanian economy, which has maintained the trend of steady growth, according to the BoA.
