American Steven Holl Architects, winner of competition for building “Expo Albania”

TIRANA, April 26/ATA/ The project presented by the US Steven Holl Architects was declared the winner of the international competition for building of the “Expo Albania”, where competed 5 prestigious teams in the world of contemporary architecture.

The 5 finalist teams were selected among 60 competitors from all over the world, while the international jury announced today the winner, Steven Holl Architects.

“These projects have a cultural dimension; they are the best projects in our portfolio. We are all very happy to cooperate”, said the architect of the winning studio.

Earlier, Prime Minister Edi Rama highlighted the significance of the projects presented for a multi-functional center necessary in this new stage of Albania’s development, as a destination for organizing fairs, exhibitions of art, culture, history, conferences and diverse meetings, creating a new offer for Albania 2030.

The center is expected to offer Tirana a modern exhibition infrastructure, giving the capital the opportunity to be a leader in the region in terms of international industry events, organization of fairs, exhibitions of art, culture, history, conferences and various meetings.

In the final stage of the competition, there competed two famous studios of American architects Steven Hall and Jeanne Gang, the German studio Kuehn Malvezzi, the Belgian team of Office KGDV and the well-known Italian studio in Albania of Stefano Boeri./
