Strong and independent judicial institutions are the guarantee of the human rights and freedoms protection, said Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Becic during the meeting with North Macedonian Ambassador Zecir Ramcilovic.
During the meeting, Becic underscored the challenges Montenegro is facing, especially in the context of numerous inherited problems and deficits in those institutions that should play a key role in the fight against corruption and organized crime.
He emphasized that, despite these challenges, Montenegro remains strong in its commitment to European and Euro-Atlantic values.
Becic remarked that the country is ready to play a very important role in the region as the most advanced candidate and the next EU member state in promoting reconciliation, democracy, the rule of law and human rights.
According to the press release, Ramcilovic recognized Montenegro’s efforts on the European path, stressing the importance of joint work and support.
