ZAGREB, 21 May (Hina) – The average monthly net salary per employee in legal entities in March this year amounted to €1,448, which represents a nominal increase of 9.2% and a real increase of 5.8% compared to the same month last year, according to figures released on Wednesday by the Croatian statistical office (DZS).

Compared with February 2025, the average net salary for March rose by 2.3% in nominal terms and by 1.9% in real terms.

The highest average net monthly salary was recorded in the broadcasting sector, at €3,469, while the lowest was in the clothing manufacturing sector, at €927.

According to the DZS report, the median net salary for March stood at €1,200, meaning half of all employees earned less and half earned more. The median salary increased by 2.1% compared with February and by 10.5% year-on-year.

The average gross monthly salary per employee in legal entities in March was €2,014, up 2.5% nominally and 2.1% in real terms compared with February.

On an annual basis, the average gross salary rose by 9.8% nominally and 6.4% in real terms.

As with net salaries, the highest average gross monthly salary for March was recorded in broadcasting, amounting to €5,698, while the lowest was in clothing manufacturing, at €1,215.

In the first three months of 2025, the average net monthly salary per employee in legal entities was €1,418,В up 11.6% nominally and 7.7% in real terms compared with the same period in 2024.

At the same time, the average gross monthly salary was €1,968, representing a nominal rise of 12.7% and a real increase of 8.8% year-on-year.

In March, the average number of paid hours was 166,В 5.7% more than in February. The highest number of paid hours was recorded in the water transport sector (179), and the lowest in building management and maintenance services and landscaping (150).

The average net hourly wage for March was €8.46, which is 3% lower than in February but 9.2% higher than in March last year, according to the DZS
