TIRANA, September 4 /ATA/ Albanian National Center of Cinematography (ANCC) has officially joined the EFAD (European Film Agency Directors association) as its newest member.

In the last meeting of the leading board that was held on the sidelines of the Venice Film Festival, there was a unanimous decision to accept ANCC, further strengthening the network of European agencies.

ANCC Head Eol Çashku expressed his belief that the reunification of the European continent depends first of all on culture and knowledge.

Therefore, he continued, EFAD constitutes an excellent instrument to share knowledge and best practices in order to encourage support for European cinematographic creativity.

“We are pleased to welcome Albania to our European family. We look forward to a fruitful cooperation”, stated Chris Marcich, EFAD president.

ANCC, founded in 1997, is the only public institution dedicated to the financing, promotion and support of cinematography and audiovisual production in Albania
