Labour Ministry carries out apprenticeship programme worth 30 M euros for young people under 30

Bucharest, Feb 11 /Agerpres/ – The Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity (MMFTSS) announces the implementation of a project aimed at apprenticeship programmes through which young people up to 30 years old can qualify at work and, at the same time, are being remunerated.

This is the project ‘START – Invest in Qualification for the Future!,’ which offers paid apprenticeship programmes, ‘where the young can learn directly at work, for a period of 6 – 36 months, depending on the level of qualification.’

‘Through this programme, we open the way for young people under 30 to start their careers. Through the START project, the young can learn a trade, gain experience and have a job where they are paid while they learn. The programme is financed with 30 million euros from European funds and the state budget, and employers receive 2,250 RON per month for each apprentice they hire,’ said Simona Bucura Oprescu, Minister of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, in a post published on Tuesday on the institution’s Facebook page.

According to the ministry, the list of some of the most sought-after jobs includes: welder – average gross salary of 5,764 RON per month, toolmaker (6,355 RON/month), plumber (6,672 RON/month), electrician (7,262 RON/month) and tinsmith (6,147 RON/month).
