ZAGREB, 14 Aug (Hina) – Average producer prices for agricultural products in Q2 2025 increased by 5.9% compared with the same period last year, according to preliminary data the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) released on Thursday.

Prices of plant products rose by 7.4%, while the prices of livestock, poultry, and animal products increased by 4.8%.

Statisticians noted that the rise in plant product prices was driven by increases in vegetables, flowers, and seedlings, up 12.7%, wine, up 9.4%, and cereals, up 7.6%. At the same time, prices for fodder crops fell by 3.7%.

Among the products with the largest share in livestock farming, prices compared with the second quarter of 2024 rose for cattle by 19.3%, milk by 4%, and poultry by 2.8%. Prices for table eggs also increased, by 5.3%, while pig prices fell by 11.8%.

Prices of goods and services for current use in the second quarter of this year rose by 1.6% compared with the same period last year, driven by increases in fertiliser and animal feed costs.

Fertiliser prices rose by 7.8% and animal feed by 2.6%. Prices of seeds and planting material increased by 6.8%, plant protection products by 3.6%, and veterinary services by 10.8%.

At the same time, energy and lubricant prices fell by 19.2%, DZS data show.
