Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is to brief in person the EU heads of state or government at the informal meeting taking place in Cyprus on Thursday and Friday, CNA has learnt.

Competent sources told CNA on Wednesday that the Ukrainian President, who was to brief the EU leaders during the informal summit via video conference on developments regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine, will do so in person.

The informal summit is taking place between April 23 and 24 in Ayia Napa and Nicosia, in the framework of Cyprus’ Presidency of the Council of the EU. Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna had said last week, when asked if Zelenskyy was expected to attend, that the Ukrainian President had been invited, but that he would participate via video call in a meeting before the working dinner on April 23, in Ayia Napa.
