Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Minister Admir Sahmanovic, Montenegro sees Turkey as a reliable partner with extensive experience in energy and mining.
He said that cooperation in these fields will contribute to diversifying energy sources, greater supply security, and the valorization of natural resources.
Sahmanovic met with the Turkish Ambassador to Montenegro Barıs Kalkavan to discuss the draft Memorandum of Understanding in the fields of mining and hydrocarbons, which would be signed by the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Montenegrin Ministry of Energy and Mining.
“The Memorandum paves the way for more efficient exchange of knowledge, experience, and technology between the two countries, as well as for joint projects in areas of their mutual strategic importance,” the press release stated.
Sahmanovic stated emphasized that mining is an important sector of the Montenegrin economy, but also an area where the highest environmental protection standards must be observed.
“Our goal is to develop the rich resources we have in a way that is economically sustainable, socially responsible, and fully aligned with ecological standards,” said Sahmanovic.
Kalkavan highlighted Turkey’s commitment to developing a partnership with Montenegro, expressing confidence that the Memorandum will form the basis for strengthening bilateral relations and concrete projects that will bring mutual benefits.
