ZAGREB, 3 Oct (Hina) – Croatia strongly supports the European Union’s enlargement to countries in Southeast Europe, particularly Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), where Croats are a constituent people, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said at a meeting with European Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos in Zagreb on Friday.
The meeting also welcomed the BiH Council of Ministers’ adoption of a reform agenda, which is important for accessing EU funds under the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, the government said in a statement.
Plenković said that all countries in the region must meet the criteria and align as closely as possible with EU policies. He emphasised that Croatia is ready to assist candidate countries in implementing the necessary reforms.
The prime minister and the European commissioner also strongly and unequivocally expressed support for Ukraine, the statement said, with Plenković highlighting the importance of continuing comprehensive assistance to the country.
