The book ‘Freedom as Human Immanence,’ with speeches by President Rugova, is promoted
On the occasion of the President’s Day, the book “Freedom as human immanence” was promoted today with a summary of the speeches of former president Ibrahim Rugova during the period 1976-2005.
The idea for the publication of this book was said to be from the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani which is also the first edition of the Presidential Library “Dr. Ibrahim Rugova”.
In her speech, the first lady of the country said that President Rugova was and continues to be the guide and builder of Kosovo’s strategic alliances with the West and the United States of America.
She emphasized that the book “Freedom as a human immanence” offers a comprehensive notice with the ideas, but also the vision for researchers and political and state leaders of President Rugova. Osmani said that President Rugova fearlessly cultivated and protected free speech and thought.
“President Rugova was and continues to be our guide, the good hour of Kosovo and the builder of our strategic alliances with the West and in particular with our main and irreplaceable ally, the United States of America. This book is just a small dedication to his extraordinary contribution to Kosovo and is the first edition of the presidential library “Dr. Ibrahim Rugova”. These speeches summarized in the book by Hyseni are not only the personal history of the historic president, but also the history of Kosovo’s own journey until the president’s departure forever. The book “Freedom as a human immanence” offers a comprehensive notice with the ideas, but also the vision for researchers, political and state leaders of President Rugova. Through his speeches, the link between creative freedom and political freedom can be clearly understood, as President Rugova repeatedly did. He cultivated and fearlessly defended free speech, free thought,” Osmani said.
Meanwhile, the author of this book, Munish Hyseni, said that among the fundamental issues that dominate the discourse of these texts are freedom and identity in creativity and society. He quoted President Rugova as saying that freedom is a human demand.
“There are two fundamental issues that dominate the discourse of these texts: freedom and identity in creativity and society. Both of these matters are closely related to each other. “Freedom is an element and phenomenon of man, of his demands and realization, both in the plan of action and in that of his existence and in-existence,” says Rugova. Dealing with the general concept of the theory, he claims that looking at historical practice, freedom is closely related to social, cultural and national freedom. Recognizing the historical reality, individual and collective identity, namely a rather broad category that contains all national, social and intellectual aspects,” said Hyseni.
Within this organization, President Vjosa Osmani handed over the first copy of the book to Fana Rugova, the wife of former President Ibrahim Rugova.
