It is suspected that a 13-year-old boy from Palermo who committed suicide at the weekend had been the victim of bullying, sources said on Monday.

The boy took took his own life at home while his parents were out on Saturday night.

It is suspected that the teen had been had taunted by bullies on several occasions.

Carabinieri police are investigating.

The middle school the boy attended has suspended all its activities on Monday.
