Podgorica, (MINA) – Vesna Vuckovic was not elected president of the Supreme Court on Monday.
She received three votes in favor, while six members of the Judicial Council were against her presidency over the Supreme Court in a full term, the Vijesti news portal reports.
Vuckovic failed to receive a two-thirds majority, so the judicial branch of government will continue to be in an acting mandate.
The Judicial Council decided to initiate an interview with Vuckovic even though the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) did not complete the procedure on establishing whether the Administrative Court violated the public interest when they had decided that Vuckovic should be a candidate for the most important position in the judiciary.
