COUNCIL – MEETING Inaugural meeting of the Trade Facilitation Council held

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Trade Facilitation Council, a permanent multiagency coordination body in charge of monitoring trade reforms, has had an inaugural meeting.

The meeting, which was held on Monday, was convened by State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Ilija Vukcevic.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry, the Council has been established in line with the Agreement on Trade Facilitation of the World Trade Organization.

“The main tasks of the Council include providing recommendations for adoption and implementation of policies and development projects in the field of trade facilitation, and coordinating the activities of relevant authorities, and between relevant authorities and the private sector, aimed at ensuring efficient implementation of reforms,” says the press release.

At the meeting, the Council members adopted the Rules of Procedure and a decision on establishment of a coordination body, tasked with providing professional and technical assistance to the Council.
