Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro has capacities to achieve its EU ambition, provided it maintains political stability, said newly appointed EU Ambassador to Montenegro Johann Sattler.

He met on Monday with Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanovic.

According to the press release from the Montenegrin government, Sattler assessed that Montenegro is a leader in European integration, not only on paper but also in reality, and that the goal set by Montenegro is realistic.

Ivanovic emphasized the excellent cooperation that Montenegro had with the previous EU ambassador and expressed hope that such cooperation will continue.

He also welcomed the very good cooperation with the European Commission and its readiness to assist Montenegro, reiterating that the goal is to close all negotiation chapters by the end of this government’s mandate.
