US ambassador
As US Ambassador George Tsunis said to Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA), commenting on the report, “The United States are proud that they are Greece’s most significant educational partner. This year, our educational collaboration has brought excellent results. According to the ‘Open Door’ report, Greece attracted 33.9% more American students and there was a 0.9% increase in Greek students travelling to the United States to study. Greece remains one of the top ten destinations for American students globally.”
Tsunis also noted the embassy’s commitment to continue working closely with educational partners in the US and Greece to keep building the relationship and increasing these numbers ever further.
“Personally, I commit myself to ensuring that a yet wider range of our youth has the opportunity to study in each other’s country. For this reason, this year we expanded our actions, focusing on developing short-term international exchanges, providing the opportunity to more young people to acquire experience of studying abroad,” The ambassador said.
