According to him, it is about the most important world-firsts achieved by Salvamont Romania – the signal drone, the National Photogram Processing Center and the Automated Ski Area Verification System used after closing hours.
“I am referring to the ski slope surveillance and post-closure verification system, the signal antenna deployed via drone and the use of artificial intelligence to identify photograms captured by drones, these are innovative projects, which we have successfully implemented in mountain rescue, and now we have the opportunity to present them to specialists from around the world who may, in turn, adopt and integrate them into their own rescue systems. (…) These are world-firsts, the data analysis center for images collected from drones is the first of its kind in the world, the signal antenna is also a world premiere and now we have this ski slope surveillance system after closing hours, which is again a world premiere and we are delighted to have reached the point where we are recognized for our research and development in the area and to become contributors of knowledge for other teams,” Sabin Cornoiu stated.
The congress in the US will be attended by nine delegates from nine Salvamont centers in Romania.
