Prime Minister Albin Kurti said today at the government meeting that Kosovo will have a dignified museum where the crimes of the former Yugoslavia and Serbia against the Albanians will be displayed.
He stated that the genocide museum will testify to the monstrous genocidal crimes of Serbia against Kosovo.
“Our country will have a dignified museum where the crimes of the former Yugoslavia and Serbia against our people will be shown. This museum is the institutionalization of our collective memory and evidence of the monstrous genocidal crimes of Serbia, as well as proof that the Republic of Kosovo has prevailed and does not forget,” he said.
In addition, Kurti once again called on diaspora members to register for voting in the parliamentary elections on February 9, 2025, reminding them that the registration deadline is December 26.
“I am addressing our diaspora from the government meeting, because their vote has been decisive for the composition of this government, just as their contribution has been crucial for the well-being of our country over the years. With our government, for the first time, our diaspora will have the opportunity to vote at embassies and consulates in the countries where our fellow citizens live. This has been made possible because we changed the law, as we had promised. Voting by postmail within the country and at the embassies and consulates is a great victory for our hardworking and patriotic diaspora and for our democratic and independent state, as well as one of the main achievements of our government in service to the diaspora. The right to vote is a right guaranteed by the constitution… Registration on the CEC website takes no more than five minutes. Voting by postmail also doesn’t take more time. Therefore, all of you who plan to vote from abroad, I invite you once again to register as soon as possible at diaspora.kqz-ks.org. Because without registration, there is no voting. Registration is a prerequisite for voting, but at the same time, it is also the guarantee for your right to vote and the opportunity to vote, dear compatriots,” said Kurti.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the removal of the visa regime for Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will take effect on January 1, 2025
“This decision will strengthen the ties between the citizens of Kosovo and Bosnia, increase opportunities for cooperation between them, and promote exchanges among students, entrepreneurs, athletes, artists, and professionals from both countries. I am particularly pleased that this facilitation will benefit Albanians in Bosnia who have family and relatives in Kosovo, as well as Bosnians in Kosovo who can welcome their family and relatives from Bosnia. Around 12,000 Albanians live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while around 27,000 Bosnians live in Kosovo. From January 1, 2025, Kosovo will be their meeting place, and we will warmly welcome them,” said Kurti.
