Romanian Tache-Codreanu’s ‘Milk and Cookies’ to get world premiere at Cannes 2025
The film “Milk and Cookies”, directed by Andrei Tache-Codreanu, will have a world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, in the “La Cinef” section, dedicated to the most promising emerging filmmakers from around the world.
The film, a production of the I.L. Caragiale National University of Theatre and Filmmaking of Bucharest (UNATC), was selected from over 2,700 international entries, being one of 16 picked for the “La Cinef” competition, a launching pad for the talents of the future of cinema.
“Milk and Cookies” is a sensitive Christmas story, an extremely current study of family relationships, starring Doru Bem, Anca Florescu, Rares Prisacariu and Liviu Chitu.
“I am deeply grateful to the entire extremely talented cast that believed in this film. It was a real joy to work together and to give life to a story that I had been working on for almost five years. The selection at Cannes was a great surprise and joy for all of us,” says Tache-Codreanu.
Andrei Tache-Codreanu, 28, recently defended his doctoral thesis in filmmaking at UNATC summa cum laude.
The 2025 Cannes Film Festival, now in its 78th edition, takes place May 13 – 24 on the Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes, France. The event brings together the most important names in world cinema every year and offers a launching pad for auteur cinema, promising debuts and large-scale productions.
