Podgorica, (MINA) – The total revenues of public broadcasters in Montenegro last year were almost EUR 37 million, of which almost EUR 26.2 million were generated by the Public Broadcaster, and EUR 10.8 million by local public broadcasters, according to the analysis of the Agency for Audiovisual Media Services (AMU).
As stated by AMU, the analysis shows a significant improvement in the financial position of local public broadcasters.
“During the last year, as many as 13 out of 15 local public broadcasters (87 percent) had a positive financial result, compared with 57 percent of them the year before”, the statement said.
It is stated that the best results were achieved by RTV Pljevlja, RTV Podgorica, RTV Rozaje and RTV Niksic, while negative financial results were recorded by RTV Budva and Radio Berane.
“The total net profit of local public broadcasters amounted to EUR 830,956, which represents the best overall result in the last five years”, the press release states.
AMU stated that the total revenues of local public broadcasters increased by 30 percent compared to 2024.
They said that the Public Broadcaster continued to operate positively last year.
“It achieved total revenues of EUR 26.2 million and a net profit of EUR 1.11 million, with record sales revenues in the five-year period”, the press release says.
It is stated that at the end of last year, public broadcasters in Montenegro employed a total of 1,215 workers.
