Bucharest, Sep 25 /Agerpres/ – Romania won a gold medal in the women’s double sculls and a silver medal in the men’s double sculls on Thursday, in the first finals held at the World Rowing Championships in Shanghai (China).
In the women’s double sculls, Simona Radis and Magdalena Rusu won the race by a long way (07:08.52) compared to the next placed teams, France (07:13.31) and the USA (07:13.93).
In the men’s, Florin Arteni and Florin Lehaci (06:42.85) were overtaken in the final by New Zealand (06:37.87), with Switzerland coming in on the third position (06:43.84).
Romania is participating with 12 crews in the World Rowing Championships in Shanghai (China), from September 21-28, including the mixed double sculls and 8+1 events, introduced for the first time in the competition.
