Romania showcases tourism offer at TTG Travel Experience fair in Italy

Romania showcased its tourism offer as a destination at the 63rd edition of the TTG Travel Experience international fair, held in Rimini, Italy, from October 14 to 16, 2026, the Ministry of Economy, Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism (MEDAT) announced.

Together with 17 co-exhibitors from the tourism, hospitality and destination promotion sectors, the ministry aimed to attract Italian tourists and develop business partnerships in Italy, one of the main source markets for Romanian tourism. In the first eight months of 2026, Italy ranked second among tourist-sending countries, a position it also held throughout 2023-2025.

In this context, MEDAT’s programme focused on cultural circuits, rural and nature tourism, city breaks, active and adventure tourism, as well as spa and wellness tourism.

“The offer corresponds to the interests of Italian tourists, who appreciate the diversity of holiday experiences, gastronomy and oenology. They are looking for quality services at affordable prices, and those who have already visited Romania are interested in discovering other areas of the country,” ministry representatives said.

The 17 co-exhibitors present at the national stand included 11 tourism and hospitality companies: Absolute Guides, AVA Top Travel, Eastern European Experience, Karpaten, Explorer-Romania, Radisson Blu Hotel Bucharest, Romania for You, Rotours, Romania for All, World Synergy Travel and World Travel Group. They were joined by six partners promoting the resorts of Baile Felix and Baile 1 Mai, the counties of Bacau, Prahova, Sibiu and Suceava, as well as Tinutul Vrancei.

The tourism offer brought together destinations and experiences from several regions of Romania. Suceava County promoted its incoming tourism programme, “Come to Bucovina”, featuring cultural tourism, Christmas traditions and customs, and hiking activities. Sibiu County showcased UNESCO Bus tours to the fortified churches of Transylvania, ecotourism packages, the “Hiking Years” programme, routes along the Via Transilvanica’s Terra Saxonum section, cultural itineraries such as the fortified churches and transhumance routes, as well as gastronomic experiences.

The Baile Felix and Baile 1 Mai resorts highlighted the therapeutic properties of their thermal waters and the relaxation and wellness services available throughout the year, while Vrancea County presented its nature tourism potential, including approximately 325 kilometres of mountain and hiking trails.

For Romanian tour operators, participation in the fair offered an opportunity to present tourism products and services to potential international partners, initiate commercial discussions and identify cooperation opportunities for the development of inbound tourism.

TTG Travel Experience is a B2B trade fair dedicated to tourism professionals and annually brings together travel agencies, tour operators, airlines and transport companies, accommodation providers, tourism service suppliers and companies specialising in tourism technology from around the world.
