Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, received on July 1 the Naval Forces Emblem of Honor in recognition of her contribution to supporting and promoting the country’s navy.

Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu visited the Romanian Naval Forces Headquarters, where they were welcomed by Vice Admiral Mihai Panait, Chief of the Romanian Naval Forces Staff. Military honours were presented upon their arrival, according to a post on the Romanian Royal Family’s Facebook page.

The visit continued with a presentation by the Chief of the Naval Forces Staff on the activities, missions and role of the Romanian Naval Forces, attended by the institution’s senior military leadership.

At the end of the meeting, the Royal Family signed the Book of Honour.

“In the main hall, in the presence of officers from the Naval Forces Headquarters and other military structures, Vice Admiral Mihai Panait presented Her Majesty with the Naval Forces Emblem of Honor as a token of appreciation and in recognition of the Crown Custodian’s contribution to supporting and promoting the Romanian Navy,” the source said.

The programme also included a presentation of artworks and exhibits from the National Museum of the Romanian Navy displayed at the Naval Forces Headquarters.

“The exhibition highlighted the institution’s heritage, bringing together collections of military and civilian ship models, historical uniforms, navigation instruments and underwater archaeological artefacts,” the source added.

At the end of the visit, Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu met military and civilian personnel at the Naval Forces Headquarters and toured several of the institution’s working facilities.
