Romania can compete through innovation and agility in world dominated by tech giants (ICI Bucharest)

Romania and other smaller countries can manage to compete through innovation and agility in a world dominated by tech giants, shows Adrian-Victor Vevera, director general of the National Institute for Research and Development in Informatics (ICI) Bucharest.

ICI Bucharest, in collaboration with INSEAD business school, organized on Wednesday a lecture on “The way smaller countries can compete with big players in the tech industry”, with the support of Club Romania Publishing House.

ICI Bucharest, as the center for research and development in information technology in Romania, plays an essential role in the development and promotion of artificial intelligence and advanced technological solutions. Romania has in recent years become an emerging hub for technological innovation in Central and Eastern Europe, thanks to an ecosystem of tech start-ups, investments in STEM education and a dynamic IT&C sector.

The topics proposed by Philip M. Parker, professor at INSEAD, focused on rapid innovation, local adaptability and effective use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics to build sustainable competitive advantages. Topics such as access to global markets through digital platforms, international partnerships and the development of local technology ecosystems were addressed.

Attendees had access to relevant case studies and interactive sessions, exploring ways in which smaller countries and small and medium-sized companies can build strong niches and develop strategic relationships with global players.
