Revenue from foreign tourists in 2024 reaches nearly €15bn

ZAGREB, 31 March (Hina) – Revenue from foreign tourists visiting Croatia in 2024 amounted to €14.97 billion, an increase of 2.7% or €388.6 million compared with 2023, the Ministry of Tourism and Sport reported on Monday, citing data from the Croatian National Bank (HNB).

According to HNB data, foreign tourist revenue in the fourth quarter of 2024 totalled €1.798 billion, representing a 10.1% increase compared with the same period in 2023, or €164.6 million more.

“In 2024, we continued the positive trend of growth in foreign tourist revenue, reaching a record of nearly €15 billion. We are particularly pleased that these record results were achieved in the shoulder seasons. This success has been supported by unprecedented investments in the tourism sector, which the government has secured through EU funds and the state budget for numerous public and private tourism infrastructure projects that enhance the quality of services and offerings,” Minister of Tourism and Sport Tonči Glavina said.

He added that in preparation for this year’s tourist season, Croatia has carried out strong promotional campaigns at the world’s largest trade fairs, with a particular focus on key source markets, from which “the latest forecasts continue to favour Croatia as a desirable tourist destination that offers good value for money.”

“All the changes we are implementing as part of the comprehensive tourism management reform aim to maximise revenue -В not just by increasing tourist numbers in the peak season, as was the case before, but by improving the quality of the offerings and positioning Croatia as a sustainable, year-round destination,” Glavina said.
