Record-high tourism revenues, 1.55 billion euros in H1, 2023

The rise in tourist numbers has translated into record-high revenue from Albania’s tourism in the first half of 2023, according to the Bank of Albania.

Data from Albania’s central bank show that foreign visitors spent a total of 1.55 billion euros in the first six months of this year.
This is the record-high figure in tourism revenues after the’90s and it reflects the incredible rise in tourist numbers this year, as Albania is seeking to be transformed into an upscale tourist destination.
According to central bank, the foreigners spending rose 37% year-on-year in the first half of this year.
According to official data, foreign visitors spent 930 million euros in the first quarter of 2023, registering an increase by 30% compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to National Institute of Statistics, INSTAT, the number of foreign tourists visiting Albania n the first six months of 2023 rose 33% year-on-year to 3.396.932.
