TIRANA, Aug  1 /ATA/ At the entrance to the city of Shkodra, near the Old Bridge of Buna, work is running apace on the pier with a floating platform for mooring boats.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared images of this construction site on social media today, while emphasizing that the new pier will diversify Shkodra’s tourist offer.

“Its construction brings for the first time a new sailing opportunity, diversifying the tourist offer and promoting business in the area,” the Prime Minister said.

The pier will have dimensions of 60 by 20 meters and a floating platform of 59 by 4 meters, which is very suitable for mooring boats.

The infrastructure built as part of the tier project in Shkodra is a step in the right direction towards a lake dotted with boats, ferries and canoes, always respecting the unique environmental values of the lake.

The construction of three piers in Shkodra, as well as the border connection by navigation and road with the villages on the shore of the lake in Montenegro, will open up a completely different perspective for tourism in this area.
