Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Minister of Maritime Affairs Filip Radulovic believes that the launch the Bar–Ancona maritime service will significantly improve the connectivity between Montenegro and Italy.
“The Bar–Ancona service will operate two to three times per week until mid-September, further strengthening our maritime network. This is the fourth maritime service launched this season, clearly demonstrating the Montenegrin Government’s commitment to developing maritime transport,” said Radulovic.
He recalled that the Bar–Bari service had been established last week and would operate once a week until the end of August. He also announced schedule adjustments in the first half of July due to certain operational issues faced by Jadrolinija.
“Last month, the Budva–Dubrovnik and Kotor–Dubrovnik routes were launched, further reinforcing regional connectivity,” Radulovic added.
Еxecutive Director of Barska Plovidba Boris Mihailovic highlighted the importance of launching this maritime service.
“Last year’s cooperation was mutually beneficial, as evident from the renewal of this partnership. This year, we expect an increase in passenger numbers, which was already noticeable on the first trip, in terms of passengers, vehicles, and lorries,” Mihailovic said.
While attending the launch ceremony for the Bar–Ancona service, Radulovic stated that the new maritime routes were crucial not only for local communities but also for the Montenegrin economy as a whole.
